Norwegian Steel Association evening event: Practical Workflows in Frame Analysis and Connection Design
BuildingPoint Scandinavia, in collaboration with the Norwegian Steel Association (Norsk Stålforbund) and the Norwegian Association for Steel Structures (NFS), invite structural engineers and steel professionals to an evening with interesting presentations related to FEM analysis and Connection Design.
The topic is connections and 3D frame analysis, with emphasis on practical workflows that link global structural analysis and local connection design.
Through project-based examples, we will demonstrate how FEM-Design, Tekla Structures, and IDEA StatiCa can be combined — from 3D frame modelling and analysis, via detailing, to verification and dimensioning of steel connections.
The presentations will address modelling strategies, interpretation of analysis results, and common challenges when using FEM in structural design. The focus is on engineering practice and applied use in real projects.

The evening begins with pizza and refreshments, followed by the technical program. After the presentations, participants are welcome to stay for informal discussions and networking.
