Launching the IFC Post Processor
The IFC Post Processor is a Tekla Structures component that gives the user more control over the creation of IFC files.
This product is available for download on Tekla Warehouse. The IFC Post Processor requires an annual license issued by BuildingPoint Scandinavia as well as a valid Tekla license. Use the contact form on this page to get a quote and/or a trial license for your company.
(OBS: This product was introduced as the BIM Demands Manager, but is now called the IFC Post Processor, which is a better and more descriptive name)
What’s the problem?
While Tekla Structures allows users to add additional Property Sets, or Psets, to an IFC file, it does not allow for modification of the standard Psets and Properties.
Some users were having problems with meeting the IFC demands of 3rd parties such as government agencies, which made certain demands for the content of the default Psets.

The Solution:
The IFC Post Processor
The IFC Post Processor resolves these problems by exposing all the standard Property Sets to the user, and allowing the user to modify them. Existing properties can be removed or remapped to a different property. Further, the user can add new properties to existing Property Sets such as Pset_BeamCommon.
This application also gives the user filter functionality such that Properties and Property Sets can be modified for sub categories of IfcEntities. This allows the user to use their Tekla Structures filters create sub groups such as Steel IfcBeam and Concrete IfcBeam, which can have distinct Properties and Property Sets from each other.
This application also gives the user the ability to modify IFCSpatialEntities, exposing settings for IfcEntities such as IfcSite, IfcBuilding, and IfcBuildingStorey. Users can change Attributes that aren’t accessible from Tekla Structures such as IfcRoot.Name, IfcSpace.LongName, IfcRoot.Description, and LandTitleNumber.
Combined, all of these features give users a comprehensive tool to make numerous IFC modifications in one user friendly interface.
