New Tekla Plugin: CCS Type-ID Assignment

VIDEO: Short introduction video (in Danish)

New plugin for Tekla

The Cuneco Classification System (CCS) is a classification system used by the Danish government to create an unambiguous exchange of digital information between different BIM software and users. It is a way of classifying all the model objects with a code that describes the object by type, space, or assembly.

This CCS Classification plugin is designed to automate the assignment of CCS Type-ID.

What does the CCS Type-ID Assignment tool do?

Use of classification is required on Danish government building projects, and we see an increasing number of requests from the industry to use the Cuneco Classification System (CCS) for that purpose in Denmark. BuildingPoint Scandinavia have developed a tool to do this classification with CCS Type-ID in Tekla Structures. It is a way of classifying all the model objects with a code that describes the object by type, space, or assembly.

Based on user criteria, the CCS code is assigned to Tekla model objects as a UDA value. CCS codes are automatically assigned based on either name of the model objects or user Selection Filters created in Tekla. Further, this plugin provides a User Interface for managing all the assigned CCS values, and making any modifications where needed.

There are many different methods of classifying model objects using CCS (type, space, assembly, combination). This plugin is specifically designed for classification based on element type. There are different ways of using type classification, and there are different ways a user may setup their Tekla model; therefore, this plugin relies on the user to create filters or name properties that sort the model objects in the desired way. This requires the user to be well organized, but it also provides a high degree of freedom and customizability.
