IDEA StatiCa 25.1 is out now, bringing a set of practical improvements aimed at streamlining common tasks in anchoring and steel connection design! Download the latest version now!
What’s new?
Among all the new benefits of upgrading to this release, our technical team at BuildingPoint Scandinavia highlights a few areas they like:
Anchoring
IMAGE: IDEA StatiCa introduced a great workflow for anchoring analysis in earlier versions, and in 25.1 this capability gets even better, adressing some of the things that was hard to do in previous releases.
Anchoring gets a meaningful update in 25.1, with support for multiple surface configurations, expanded anchor types (including headed studs, washer plates, and reinforcement bars), and clearer installation options.
Also, both cast-in-place and post-installed anchors are now easier to define and code-check!
These improvements bring better consistency between the Connection and Detail apps and make it easier to model realistic anchoring setups without workarounds — especially in more complex foundation and retrofit scenarios.

Checkbot
A new option to align members by cross-section adds precise control over member positioning in connection models.
This is particularly valuable in larger or more complex assemblies, where consistent alignment directly affects the quality of the connection design and results.
IMAGE: Bulk report generation is now significantly faster, making it more practical to handle multiple connections in larger projects.
In addition, bulk report generation is now significantly faster, making it more practical to handle multiple connections in larger projects.
Together, these updates help improve both the accuracy and efficiency of the Checkbot workflow.

Other news
IMAGE: Detail supports unbonded tendons. This feature is available for all three supported standards (EN, ACI, AUS) and allows users to bring new life to existing concrete structures.
There are also other news worth mentioning!
✔︎ Support for smooth reinforcement and unbonded tendons extends the software’s usefulness in assessment and retrofit work, particularly for older concrete structures!
IMAGE: Use the new link to send geometry and design forces straight from ETABS or SAP2000 into IDEA StatiCa Detail 2D, bringing precision, time saving, and reduction of possible errors.
✔︎ In addition, Checkbot now includes its first BIM link for concrete, allowing reinforced concrete walls to be transferred from ETABS and SAP2000 into IDEA StatiCa Detail.
While not relevant for every user, it’s a nice step forward in integrating concrete workflows with structural analysis tools!
Of course, the value of these updates depends on your workflow and project type — but IDEA StatiCa 25.1 proves again how this popular software consistently moves forward with incremental and step changes in structural engineering workflows with every new release!
